Plastic Bag Bans

Can you guess how many plastic bags are handed out every minute around the globe?  About 2 MILLION!  But recently, cities, states and even countries are going Bag-LESS.  Over 150 cities and counties have plastic bag bans in place or require a bag fee.  Places like California and Hawaii have state-wide bans on single-use plastic bags.  Our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., started the trend in 2009 with a 5-cent fee on plastic bags.  Some major cities that have plastic bag bans include San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Austin, Dallas, and Chicago, IL. There are even many plastic bag bans around the world including places like Karnataka, India, Kenya, Chile, The United Kingdom, China and Australia.  Is your area one of them?  Find out below and  learn more about plastic bag ban legislation in your state. And if your city or state does not currently have a plastic bag ban, consider getting involved to get one going!
