Do you keep it cool too? Your water that is. Going Single-Use Plastic Bottle-LESS with Brendan from Klean Kanteen

I love Klean Kanteen and all of your stainless-steel products. They are awesome- especially the insulated bottles. I use them, my kids use them, and most of my friends use them too. In your opinion, why are reusable bottles so critical to creating a healthier ocean and earth?

At Klean we build solutions, and want to provide people with the tools to combat the single-use waste problem plaguing our planet.

I am impressed not only with Klean Kanteen’s products, but with the company’s commitment to protecting the environment. You guys really care. Can you tell me a little bit about Klean Kanteen’s commitment the environment: what actions you take and why.

We are proud 1% for the Planet members and operate as a B Corporation. Through our 1% efforts we partner with organizations and people who are stewards for our planet. Clean water and protecting publics lands are very important to us, so we show up with boots on the ground whenever possible and back these organizations with our dollars and our time. This upcoming weekend is a perfect example, we have several employees heading down to the Yosemite Facelift event to help clean up a park we all love.

Brendan, Klean Kanteen has been supporting environmental non-profits like the one I founded, Grades of Green, as well as environmentally-minded entrepreneurs like my Everyday Eco-Habits For Everyday People blog for MANY YEARS. Why does Klean Kanteen take such an interest in supporting these organizations?

Like I mentioned earlier, using our dollars to support people and planet are core values to our business. Whether it’s Grades of Green or Surfrider, we feel that it’s not only the responsible way to do business but we want to challenge other businesses to show up the way we do. We practice what we preach and always look to partner with like-minded organizations to help spread the message of protecting the places we live and play.

Finally, as a person that cares about the environment, can you share with my Everyday Eco-Habits community your top 3 tips to help us on our journey to Go Bottle-LESS?

It’s simple. Bring your own. Refuse single use and do your part to be mindful of this wonderful place we call home.
